U14 Championships (30th May-1st June)

Fun and development in a high-quality tournament

The HM Way

Fun

Meet like-minded peers from all over the country as you become part of the HM Community. Compete in a high quality tournament between 4 HM teams, as well as enjoying a big social for all players on the Saturday evening. With an emphasis on connection and a supportive environment from coaches, we help facilitate a safe enjoyable environment for all players to thrive in.

Development

In junior hockey there is a distinct lack of high-quality coaching and individual feedback. As well as being a fun competitive tournament a USP of this event is a dedication to high-quality coaching and detailed individual feedback. Coaching is provided by HM alumni who have all played national league and/or junior international level, supported by a scouting/technical team dedicated to providing individual feedback. This support teams includes HM Founder Jack Childs, ex GB coach Jon Royce, current National Prem coach Andy Fairbrother, Hockey Mentors U14 Head Coach Bob Narwal and ex international GK coach Rod Journeaux.

HM Founder Jack Childs selects the teams, with the aim to get four even teams as much as possible.

No- the aim of the tournament is to talent spot players and provide high-quality individual feedback to all players. As such the Friday is dedicated to technical testing and the weekend dedicated to matchplay. We want to see how players are able to play in a team without training, as this is what you have to do when you play for a HM team in competitive games. HM teams have beaten the best English clubs/schools and even top European teams, with often people surprised at how well players who don’t train together can play.

HM Alumni* who have all played National League and/or junior international level coach the teams. The majority also have lots of experience coaching on our camps. The team coaches are…

-Taheem Javaid (current National Prem/ex England U18s)

-Archie Crowley (ex England U18s)

-Eddie Rowney (ex England U18s)

-Luke Thomas (current National League)

-Jess Lewis (ex National League/current US Div 1NCAA Player)

-Ella Cashman (current England U21s/current US NCAA Div 1 Player)
