Advisory Committee
Jack Childs
Founder

Jack Childs is the founder and Director of Hockey for Hockey Mentors CIC. Jack founded the community interest company in 2021 to give talent from all backgrounds a chance to reach their potential in the sport based on merit. In his coaching experiences he felt this wasn’t the case and that English hockey was not fully maximising the potential of all talent in the sport. Since 2021 he has built Hockey Mentors from the ground up leading on the programme structure, marketing, partnerships, finances, relationship management and business development.
Over the last decade Jack has coached 100+ junior international players. He has coached at 10 junior national finals (1 gold/4 silvers), coached University of Exeter Men’s/Women’s 1s and Cambridge Uni W1s in National League and won the TA Festival twice as Surbiton TA Girls Head Coach. He has led Hockey Mentors teams in international fixtures against USA, Wales, Scotland, Ulster, and top European club teams, winning the U16 Girls Reyes tournament and U14 girls Holland Elite Cup. Jack also has extensive indoor hockey coaching experience, which includes coaching at 5 junior indoor national finals and overseeing HM winning 62 medals at Indoor Hockey UK events in the last four years.
Jack holds a 1st class degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Exeter and was the youngest ever L3 coach qualified in any sport in England when he got his L3 qualification aged 20. He is also a qualified meditation teacher and is working towards his L3 in athlete personal development.
